Compound Angle Calculator
When a pipe turns in two planes at once, you cannot add the angles. Get the true compound angle from the two plane angles.
How it works
- tan(compound) = √(tan²A + tan²B)
- compound = atan( √(tan²A + tan²B) )
- Miter cut = compound ÷ 2
Worked example
A = 30°, B = 45° → compound ≈ 49.1° (not 75°). Miter cut ≈ 24.5°.
